Co-management collaboration in the NWT

ree

The NWT Board Forum is a collaborative platform comprising the Chairs of various Boards and committees established under NWT Aboriginal rights agreements for co-managing lands and resources within their territories. It includes participation from Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT), the Office of the Regulator of Oil and Gas Operations (OROGO), and the National Energy Board (NEB), reflecting a shared regulatory responsibility in the NWT.

The Forum's primary aim is to facilitate learning, coordination of activities, and communication among its members, addressing common issues and sharing expertise. Additionally, it serves as a structured environment for industry, government, and other entities to engage with the NWT’s Co-management Boards.

We were excited to share this resource on our blog because of the free online courses on Board Orientation, Administrative Law, Renewable Resources Management, and Land Use Planning.

The NWT Board Forum presents an exceptional opportunity to learn about co-management in the North West Territories!
